worms
I made research on what animal eats the apple and leaves a hole inside. I found out about these fruitflies that find a ripe and juicy apple, they use their small and sharp hollow tube on the underside of her body and makes a hole where she lays her eggs. The eggs become worms which do not end up looking anything like their mother. These worms nourish themselves with the apples, when the apples fall the worm burrows into the ground.

Oh my. I never knew this. I guess I never thought about how worms got in my apples. What do they look like? I've never seen one--just the holes they make.
